Bal Bahadur - Soldier
Bal Bahadur, known by his comrades as Bhaz Gul was a soldier with the 59th Scinde Rifles (Frontier Force) during the First World War. In March 1915, during the battle at Neuve Chapelle the British Indian Army was ordered to first hold, and then advance into enemy lines whilst facing heavy fire. Leading four volunteers with an officer Bahadur charged across, he pulled one man to safety and was severely wounded when he went back to get another wounded soldier.
